We explore the multifaceted domain of fluid mechanics through diverse lenses. Our current focus is on active fluids and intelligent fluids.
For active fluids, our investigations are centered on the behaviors of active agents (Janus colloids, active droplets, and flagella/cilia) in flow. For example, our recent work has explored the emerging collective behaviors of active droplets, considering their many-body, long-range hydrochemical interactions.

For intelligent fluids, we attempt applying machine learning techniques to fluid mechanics, seeking new physical understanding and engineering solutions. Our very recent focus is on exploring whether and how large language models can be applied to fluid dynamics and soft matter physics, as exemplified by this work. In parallel, we also employ reinforcement learning for the design and navigation of microrobots in viscous fluids, see here.
